SIPCL plans investment in Orissa power project

Sahara India Power Corporation (SIPCL) is expected to pump in Rs 8,000 crore on its proposed 1,320 MW power project at Titlagarh in Bolangir district of Orissa.

The plant requires 950 acre and Industrial Infrastructure Corporation has been entrusted the task of land acquisition. The Orissa water resources department has sanctioned 50 cusecs water to be drawn from the Tel River.

The plant will be based on environmentally efficient supercritical technology and operate with effluents of less than 50 per cent of the limits fixed by the union ministry of environment and forests.
