Bids invited for Kanupur irrigation project in Keonjhar
The Public Works Department, Odisha has invited bids from potential companies for Kanupur irrigation project in Keonjhar district of Odisha.
The bids have been invited for construction of Kumarpur main canal from Rd 21600 m to 28610 m including structures except the reach from Rd 31950 m to 32190 m of Kanupur Irrigation Project. The tender is valued at Rs 55 Crore. The last date for the submission of bids is 23 November 2012.
PWD, Odisha invites RFQs for road widening project
The Public Works Department, Odisha has invited RFQs from potential companies for road widening project in the state.
The bids have been invited for four laning with paved shoulders of Sambalpur-Rourkela section of SH-10 from Km 4.900 to Km 167.900 in Orissa to be executed as BOT (Toll) project on DBFOT pattern. The project is estimated to cost Rs 1, 293 crore. Last date for the submission of RFQs is 14 November 2012.
Odisha to invite fresh bids for Shamuka project
The Odisha Government is likely to call for fresh bids for the Rs 3,500-crore Shamuka tourism project in Puri district in December 2012.
The Phase I bid envisages development of four five star hotels and a golf course hotels at the site. The state tourism department is likely to submit the contours soon to the state government for approval. Apart from five star hotels and an 18 hole golf course, the beach project will have facilities like a convention centre of international standards with a seating capacity of nearly 1,500 people, boutique hotels, international spa and wellness centres, an entertainment zone and sports facilities. The entire project is to be developed over an area of 3,000 acre on PPP mode.
Earlier, bids were invited for setting up hotels under this project. However, the interested players did not submit their financial bids citing economic downturn then. The selected bidders included Taj Group of Hotels and Resorts, ITC, Park Hotels, Ananda Spa, Emaar MGF, DLF etc.
Meanwhile, Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) will initiate steps for completion of internal roads while energy and water resources department are asked to ensure water and power supply by June 2013.
Odisha to expedite land acquisition for Astaranga port
The Odisha Government is likely to fasttrack land acquisition process for Astaranga minor port in the state.
The project requires 3,900 acre, including 1,464 acre of government land and 2,436 acre private land. However, the land acquisition process has been on hold due to various issues such as opposition by locals, lack of environment clearance and non-compliance of land acquisition norms. So far, the state government has acquired 2,400 acre and needs to buy rest 1,500 acre to enable the private company to start construction.
Navayuga Engineering Company (NECL) is the developer for the minor port, which will be built with total investment of more than Rs 6,500 crore. The initial capacity of the port will be 25 million tpa which will be eventually enhanced further to 70 million tpa.
